This exhibit is a celebration of Chinese heritage & asian culture, in historic Detroit Chinatown by prolific local Street artist & Muralist Anthony Lee.
Gallery opening at Detroit Shipping Company, December 7th, 4-10pm
The portraits & creatures depicted in these paintings are drawn from classic Chinese mythology, pop culture, KungFu films, along with some sci-fi inspirations & creations motivated by pride for Asian Detroit culture. Showing a variety of lasting old Chinese values, visions of hi-tech futurism & the boldness of resilient Detroit.
With this exhibit, Lee hopes to bring back more authentic Chinese & Asian culture to the Detroit area.

DJ Thomas Xu B2B DJ MONSUUUN
Xiao Dong Wei has been teaching Chinese music ensemble at the University of Michigan for over a decade. She has been a guest soloist for orchestras such as the Detroit Symphony Orchestra & more. Xiao Dong Wei is also a Kresge Performing Artist Fellow, and also a semi-professional chef in her spare time. Her other hobbies include yoga, and Chinese sword martial arts.
She will be playing several traditional Chinese instruments, and will also be singing some Chinese tunes for us as well. Join us for a fantastic hour of Chinese cultural music in historic Detroit Chinatown!"
